Here in South Tyrol, nature moves at its own pace and doesn’t keep you waiting too long for spring! The sun comes early to our mountains and valleys. Our region is green and flowers bloom earlier than in other Alpine regions. One highlight is the apple tree bloom in April, when the bright green hills are dotted with white flowers

Make it perfect, please
We’ll do our best. If you want to go hiking, the region around Merano and the Texel Group offer everything from “I can still make conversation” to “We’ll talk again when we reach the top”. Spring also comes early here, offering mild temperatures and lush landscapes. Cable cars start running as early as April 1. The Waalweg irrigation channel paths and the Meraner Höhenweg are perfect for getting into the hiking spirit.

Craving for the mountains
Clean up the rims and off you go! Why not take a comfortable trip up the mountain by cable car after the winter break? Mountain bikers can enjoy the sunny side of the Alps when the lifts switch to summer mode on April 1. You can take off directly at the BOTANGO for your mountain bike run up the Vigiljoch covering an altitude difference of 1,500 m – or comfortably go up 800 m by cable car.

Lean into those curves
Bikers know that works really well here in South Tyrol. Particularly with Instagram-worthy backdrops everywhere you look. If the start of spring marks the beginning of motorcycle season for you, our hearts and motorcycle parking are open to you. Three major routes come together here in Töll-Partschins (Tel-Parcines) near Merano.

Forest bathing at the waterfall
Is doing something good for your health and well-being a part of your holiday wish list? Then you have to go to the Partschins/Parcines Waterfall (you must have seen it before). The water also has healing qualities and provides superior air quality. As part of the "Gsund bleibm" ("Stay healthy") program, you will discover the secrets of the waterfall – for example while bathing in the woods, practicing Kneipp hiking, meditating or abseiling.
