First the classic beginning: born into the family business. Next stop: the Kaiserhof regional hotel management school, six and a half (!?) kilometres from home. But then: the big wide world. The Hilton and the 2 Michelin-starred Facil restaurant in Berlin, cruises on Hapag-Lloyd's MS Europa, MS Columbus 2 and MS Hanseatic vessels – non-stop adventure until 2004.
Rosmarie Schönweger's roots and heart
Can you believe it? If you ask the senior host Rosmarie about her hobby she responds with a mischievous smile: "My job!" If it wasn't the transformation of the Hotel Edelweiss into the popular B&B Hotel BOTANGO probably wouldn't have been possible. "The BOTANGO has been my home – since 1977! I make sure that the guests feel at home." Check!
Günther Schönweger's hobby: enjoying wine
Back to our junior host If you run into him you're sure to come away with a hot wine tip. For Günther is the hotel sommelier and lives and breathes his passion for good food and outstanding tipples. And here he is the ideal man for the job. "I adore the alpine-Mediterranean flair of Meran. Pleasure, culture, architecture - it's a place where everything is just right."
